Show CANADIAN RAILWAY BUYS ANOTHER AMERICAN LINE NEW YORK, Dec. 1. Announcement was made today that a flying visit, which Charles M. Hayes, president of the Grand Trunk railway, paid to New-York New-York yesterday was for the purpose of purchasing the Pontine, 'Oxford & Northern railwaj:. His errand was accomplished ac-complished and he was off again for Montreal four hours after ho reached Now York. The railroad, which the Grand Trunk has thus secured, is an independent route in northern Michigan, only about a hundred miles long. It connects with the Grand Trunk Westorn at Pontine. no statoment as to tho prico paid was given out. Tho Pontine, Oxford & Northern runs from Pontine, Mich., north to Casevillo on tho shores of Snginnw bay, on the western coast, of Lake Huron. No apparent ap-parent important changes in the railroad map are mado by the purchase. The road has been in a receiver's hands for some time, Tho Grand Trunk, although a Canadian road, has considerable consid-erable milcago in Michigan and Vor-mont. Vor-mont.
