Show SPR1NGVILLE NOTES Special to The Tribune SPRINGVILLE. Sept. 29. Canute E. M. Swenscn of this city died yesterday morning morn-ing at -1 o'clock of consumption, after an illness of a little over .a year. Canute Swensen was born In Sweden thirty-five years .ago, and camo to Utah with his parents when a small child. Ho was unmarried, un-married, but leaves a mother and a brother broth-er and sister to mourn his death. Mr. Swensen was a member of the Maccabees, Modern Woodmen and I. O. O. F. orders and had Insurance to the amount of $3000 In the two orders first named. The funeral fu-neral will be held at the First ward L. D. S. church. Tho orders of which ho was a member will turn out In a body. The teachers of the public schools of Mount Pleasant, seventeen In number, camo to Sprlngvlllo this morning to visit the schools of this city. Sprlngvllle and Mapleton farmers have shipped three carloads of cantaloupes this season and would havo shipped two or three carloads more If It hadn't been for the heavy frost which visited this section sec-tion of country a few nights ago. This Is the first year that the farmers here have tried to grow cantaloupes for tho market In largo quantities, and they believe be-lieve that with a suitable season tho Industry In-dustry will prove a paying one. and It Is expected that a largo acreage will be planted next year. |
