Recognizing this certain fact, and yielding yield-ing to strongly exerted inLttiences to that end, this bureau has. made a request upon the principal local freight traffic official ot tho Denver & Rio Grando Railroad company for the early establishment of a rate of Sf centa per net ton on slack, and of $1.05 per net ton on all other kinds of con I, In carloads, from the various var-ious coal producing points on the lines of that company within this stale to Ttah common points territory. In view of the great Interest in the coal traffic of this state held by the company represented by you, Jt Is respectfully requested re-quested that you will he good enough to jirocure corresponding consideration to that indicated in the foregoing on the part of the Oregon Short Line railroad and the other lines directly related with it In this traffic, from the territory served thereby.
