Show OBJECTION RAISED TO WATERWORKS COMMISSION Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN, Feb. 15. Following the completion com-pletion of the bill which will bo introduced intro-duced In the legislature a't an early day to create a water works commission for Ogden City, some opposition has arisen to tho movement. The bill provided for a commission of three members, with tho mayor as president. Tills commission, ns contemplated by the terms of tho bill, will have exclusive control of the water works systems recently purchased by tho city from the Ogden Water Works company. com-pany. In a communication to a local afternoon after-noon paper, O. A. Kennedy, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, declares that ho considers tho appointment of a commission com-mission to run any department of the municipal aflalr3 a transgression of the rights of tho people, who havo no voice In tho selection of the personnel of the board. Mr. Kennedy believes that tho city council, the members of which arc elected directly by the people, should perform per-form tho duties which arc sought to bo placed In the hands of a commission, declaring de-claring that it appears to be an effort to shirk or divide up the responsibility. |
