Show SEVEN TROUGHS A SPLENDID REGION f A. J. Davis Returns Very Much Impressed With Ores Now Being Found. MAZUMA HILLS HAS SUCCESS IN MILL More Mines Being Opened and More Men Employed Than Ever Before. Seven Troughs, Nevada, is a magnificent magnif-icent district, and A. .7. Davis, president presi-dent of tho Salt Lake- City Council and manager of tho Gold Cord company in that camp, has returned to Salt Lake more than ever enthusiastic regarding this gold sectiom Mr. Davis stated to The Tribune Thursday that ho is more than ever convinced that Seven Troughs is one of the greatest gold camps in the country and tho camp is looking better bet-ter now than ever before. This is natural, nat-ural, for more properties are being developed, de-veloped, and more miners arc at work, than at. any previous period there. One of the attractions of the district is tho Mazuma Kills mill, which is doing do-ing fine work at present. During Mr. Davis's visil, tho management made a clean-up after a fourteen day run, tho result being $17,240 worth of yellow metal recovered. Tho clean-up previous to this one was larger, but more high-grade high-grade was run through the plant. This time, states Mr. Davis, the mill was fed only low-p-ado ore, and the companj- naturally 15 delighted with results. re-sults. General Manager John Harnon informod Mr. Davis that the mill was making a 03 por cent saving. The Reagan lease, located on the Mazuma Hills property, is to sond some of its rock through this mill for a period peri-od of two weeks, the ore running up to as high as $900 per ton. The Reagan Rea-gan lease right now is ono of tho bright est spots in ihc district. An option is hanging oyer it for $250,000, and this is liable to be taken at any day. A now vein has been found on the lease, and found within one foot of tho hoisting hoist-ing frame set over the main shaft. Mr. Davis snys that had the excavation for the hoist, been enlarged just one foot, the vein would have been found months ago. The new strike has been opened up for fifteen feet, showing for a width of four feet, and running close to $100 per ton gold. Tho Hayes lease, and the Seven Troughs Eclipse company both have installed in-stalled new machinery, both sinking to depth. The Wihu.ja lease has cut its ore, having $400 rock, while Mr. Davis says ten inches of the vein are high-grade high-grade values. Tho Kindergarten company com-pany is sinking a double compartment shaft, hoisting in tho meantime for the mill its low grade rock via the Wihuja workings. The Seven Troughs Mining company is driving to the 3000-foot level. On this property the Harris lense has broken iuto high-grade ore. Mr. Davis states it looks as if the Harris management has iust tapped the top of the ore, and it looks as if the high-grade rock of the Seven Troughs has been found, and there is no doubting the fact, he states, that the vein is the same. The George and Kuglish lease on the Fine Gold property has been financed for a campaign of deep work. This lease has . splendid ores and values. val-ues. Tho Gold Cord lease, under Mr. Davis's management, has started to sink an inclino lo lap the vein. This property is one of the best located in the district, and Mr. Davis is very anxious to reach the sulphide zone before be-fore attempting any very extensive side developments. |
