Matteaon, a young negro paper-hanger, paper-hanger, who has since March been under arrest on tho charge of stfollng a diamond dia-mond pin, valued at $275, from P. J. Anson, An-son, had his preliminary hearing before Judgo DIohl Friday and was hold In default de-fault of $500 bonds to answer to tho District Dis-trict court for the crime of grand larceny. Matteson was represented by Attornovs McGurrln and Gustln, but no testimony for tho defense was introduced at the preliminary hearing.
