Tho Federal Fed-eral grand Jury Investigating tho Oregon land frauds todny returned truo bills against Claude F. Thayer, the Tillamook capitalist, son of former Gov. Thayer of this State, together with several other operators Indicted with him. The significance sig-nificance of this action Is emphasized by tho fact that when the .indictment was returned there remained but six hours until the law would have been powerless to reach tho crime. After Years of Delay. After years of delay the notorious Tillamook Till-amook land frauds are at last to be brought beforo tho courts. In September, Septem-ber, 1S99. approximately 100 persons made filings at the Oregon City land offlco to enter timber lands In Tillamook county, tho lands being situated In the famous Nehalen valley. It la alleged that had Claude Thayer and his associates secured a purchaser tho net profits wero to bo divided. ' Much Money Involved.
