Denies the Bloodshed. NEW YORK. Aug. 25 Dr. Juan J. UI-lcr, UI-lcr, consul-general of Costa Rica at New York sad today that the private advices from' Costa Rica to the effect that tho Clerical party had won a victory and that there had been bloodshed as a result re-sult of tho election, were Incorrect. The consul-general mado tho following statement. state-ment. . , . , ... "The elections- of first degrco took place In Costa Rica on the 20th. 21st tfnd 22nd lnsL, but no official advices havo come as yet representing tho results. As Dr. Panlfolo D. Halverdo was not the candidate candi-date of anv of tho contending parlies, I do not see why he could have received the majority of votes at tho polls."
