Show HOME FROM CHAUTAUQUA Party of Utahns Return After Eight Weeks at Summer School. After an absence of eight weeks to tho Chautauqua summer school at New York, Miss Anglo Holbrook of Provo, Leo Marshall, Mar-shall, Miss Edna Harker. Miss Loulso Spencer, Miss Rctta Snow and Mr. Erastus Milne returned home yesterday yester-day morning. Most of these have been doing special work In physical education and oral expression. In tho latter line of work their professors havo been Prof. S. H. Clark of the University of Chicago and Mrs. Baker, both well known here as dramatic readers. In his work ln physical education, Mr. Leo Marshall passed out of the courso with high honors. During the coming year he will assist Mr. Maddock and Dr. Gowans ln physical education work at tho University of Utah. Miss Edna Harker Is also reported to have done splendid work, particularly ln dramatic dra-matic reading. During tho coming year sho will act as Prof. Maud May Babcock's assistant ln elocution and physical education at the University of Utah. ' Miss Anglo Holbrook. instructor In tho Brlgham Young university, and Erastus Milne, physical director at the Latter-day Saints university, return well satisfied with the work done. During the coming year Miss Retta Snow, who did special work In elocution while away, will teach that subject at the Rexburg academy. Miss Spencer attended tho school for that purpose. taJtlng a course In physical education, and acquitted herself most cicdllably. All the members of tho party save two are old members of tho University Uni-versity Dramatic club. Miss Rose Thomas, daughter of R. K. Thomas, went East with the party, but at the close of school remained ln Now York visiting with her sister, Blanche Kendall. |
