TARANTULA CAPTURED. Huge Insect Is Picked Up at a Station Below Eureka O. C Richardson of this city captuicd a tarantula of unusual size at Lagoona, a station about thirty miles from Eureka, yesterday afternoon. With several other men, Mr. Richardson was engaged In digging dig-ging a trench and ran upon a tarantula. The Insect made desperate efforts to escape, es-cape, and Mr. Richardson's companions began to make n retreat. Tho discoverer if the poisonous Insect, however, was not so tlmld He held the tarantula down with a shovel until some one brought him a Jar of water. The Insect was put into the Jar ufte.- much difficulty. Then the water was emptied out and the find of Mr. Richardson brought tO this city, where It attracted much attention In one of the uptown drug stores
