Show IN CONTEMPT OF COURT. John "W. Young Ordered to Show Cause. Special to Tho Tribune. NEW YORK, March 17. An order was served on John W. Young, son of Brig-ham Brig-ham Young, to show cause why ho should not bo punished for contempt of court. Tho proceeding Is tho outcome of a Judgment Judg-ment obtained against Young by S, Hirsh & Co,, bankers of this city, for $1171 on a promlsory note. On January 23 Hirsh & Co, obtained an order for an examination examina-tion of Young in supplementary proceedings. proceed-ings. This order was served on Jnnuary 2-9 and tho examination was fixed for February Feb-ruary 7, but tho defendant did not appear ond was declared in contempt. The proceedings ngainst Young nro connected con-nected wltn his claims in the bankrupt firm of Dresser & Co,, and his suit re-ccntlv re-ccntlv Instituted against tho Metropolitan Truut company for an accounting of $60,-COO.O00 $60,-COO.O00 of securities of tho United States Ship Building company. The noto was given to Hirsh & Co, as partial recompense recom-pense of the return of ship building bonds which tho bankers had received from D. Lerov ns security for a loan. Young cls-lrried that tho bonds were his and could not ho offered ns security. |
