Show BALAKLALA SMELTER. Report That Means Have Been Provided Pro-vided for Its Construction. A telegram from Chicago announces the arrival In that city of Wlllard F. Snyder, president and general manager of the Western Exploration company, after an absence of a montll or more among the multi-millionaires of New York and Boston, without reference to his wealthy associates from Pennsylvania. It was said yesterday that Mr. Snyder Is bringing with him sinew with which to provide at onco for the equipment of the Balaklala group of mines In Shasta county, Cal., of which the Western Exploration company exercises ex-ercises control, and that a smelter will be erected the present season. According Accord-ing to those who havo had access to the report, tho examination conducted by Capt. Duncan MncVlchlo a short time ago developed the presence of 2,500,000 tons of ore, while since that examination examina-tion was terminated the management has opened up bodies at several other points, some of them showing very high percentages.
