Show HANTI REPUBLICANS NOT . ALTOGETHER HARMONIOUS Special to The Tribune. MANTT, March 26. Republicans met at the court house at 9 o'clock last evening, the purpose of which appeared to be to improve the candidacy of William Wil-liam D. Livingston for judge of the Seventh judicial district. The meeting was cabled to order by William R. Reld. F. Alder was nominated as chairman, but declined to act, not understanding the object of the gathering. Reld was finally chosen chairman, and asked for tho election of a secretary, but no one was nominated. Mr. Reid requested Judge Johnson to make an address. The judge said hn had been asked by Sheriff Jensen to attend, at-tend, but would have to await developments develop-ments before making any remarks. Tho trend of the arguments of some of the speakers that followed was that tho understanding had been in the past that Mr. Livingston had agreed to support sup-port James Johnson and that general rumor had it that there waa a deal on between the two to defeat Mr. Chrlsten-son. Chrlsten-son. i Both Judge Johnson, and Mr. Livingston Living-ston satisfied the audience that such was not the case. Some questions by Senator Alder and others induced Sheriff Jensen, who appeared ap-peared io bo the Instigator of this, to say that he was not, but that Gus Iver-son Iver-son had made the call for the meeting. The funeral services of Miss Alice Frederlckson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Frederlckson, took place at the Tabernacle yesterday afternoon. |
