Show FOUR UNDEH SUSPICION Visitors to the City Regarded as Bad Men Put in Jail What the police look upon as an aggregation ag-gregation of bud men were taken in charge by Detective Sheets and Officer Hilton yesterday afternoon One of the four when searched at the station had a skeleton key In Ills pocket The fellow fel-low who gave his name as Frank Jennings Jen-nings was locked up for having a burglars tool In his possession The others who gave their names as Frank Brown Thomas Moore and Tom Kearns were locked up as suspicious characters Two of them Jennings and Moore were Identified by Detective Detec-tive Sheets as the two men who ran away from him before daylight yesterday yester-day morning At the time of heir escape es-cape the two had a number of cigar boxes under their arms Attention was called to them yesterday yester-day by a clerk at Mullets clothing store where the four men were acting in a suspicious manner Sheets walked Into the store and seized Jennings but the others left the place and walked up Commercial street Sheets turned his prisoner over to Officer Hilton and gave chase He corralled the other three near the head of Commercial street and when Hilton cam up with Jennings Jen-nings the quartette of prisoners were marched to the station and locked up Jennings was arraigned before Judge Timmony In the afternoon on thc charge of having a burglars tool in his possession skeleton key with the Intention of using the same on some house to the affiant unknown I plead guilty to having the key In my pocket he said but I picked t up on the street only a couple of hours previous Do you realize what you are doing the penalty that attaches to your action ac-tion T Well as I i said I plead guilty to having tho key but I had no idea of using It in any manner A plea of not guilty was entered for the defendant and the case went over until tomorrow at 2 oclock |
