Show BOY ACCIDENTALLY KILLED Ho Was Playing With a Small Rifle When It Discharged Coalville May 100no of the saddest accidents that has occurred here for I many a day happened this afternoon about 2 oclock by which Elmer the thir I teenyearold son of Mr and Mrs J W I lee of Hoylsvllle lost his life Just how the accident happened Is not known The boy had a 22callber rlllo and was playing with It in the Summit creamery building build-ing and In some manner the weapon was discharged Tho bullet entered his left ear and passed clear through tho head comIng out on top and lodging In tho coiling coil-ing The bullot cut an awful I gash and tho boy died a few minutes after the gun went off The boy had been warned by Mr Merrill who is In charge of the creamery a few minutes before to bo careful with the weapon but replied that ho knew how to handle a gun Mr Merrill Mer-rill had no sooner got to the door of the building when he heard the shot and upon up-on returning found tho boy on tho floor with a bullet hole through his head Ho was taken Into the house and a physician summoned but he passed away before tho doctor arrived The funeral will occur on Monday at Iloytsville Elmer was the oldest son of Mr and Mrs Lee and wan an exceptionally bright boy The parents and brothers and sisters sis-ters aro nearly distracted with grief over tho loss of tho boy Mr Leo has been laid up for about a month with typhoid fever and pneumonia and is at the present limo in a very low condition and this blow is a severe one to him This should bo another object lesson to boys who are In tho habit of carelessly handling guns |
