Our statements, which Dr. Murphy does not contradict by giving facts, were obtained from reliable sources. In the article referred to wo asked him a question ques-tion in a courteous manner, and the columns of the Herald were open to him, and are yet, for an answer. The question was one, too, which numbers of persons were asking, and the public have a right to seek information in such matters when they have reason to believe be-lieve public health is endangered. Our remarks were not penned with a desire to stir up unkindly feeling, but to subserve sub-serve the public welfare; and if Dr. Murphy can show that facts were misstated mis-stated we shall be pleased for him to . do so. |
