Declared Off BOSTON Nov 20The big intercity inter-city boxing tournament which was to 1 have come off in this city next January Jan-uary has been declared off by the Boston Athletic association At this j meeting it was proposed as was the J case last year to put the best amateur boxers to be found in the various varous classes against a team selected by the Chicago Athletic association Athletc associaton The action of the committee is a recognition of the precarious condition of boxing in this city In view of the fact that the police commissioners are opposed to athletic boxing shows and that the new legislature is liable to enact more stringent laws governing the public conduct of this sport the Boston Athletic association governors have decided that though they might hold their tournament under the guest ticket system i is best to wait developments develop-ments before giving any more tournaments tourna-ments TO a Finish WASHINGTON Nov 20Joe Bate man of this city and John Glenn of Wilmington Del fought to a finish on I the Blaidesburg road tonight Glenn was knocked out in the eleventh round
