Show GEYSER1trARION ORE BODIES I The West Geyser Discovery a Most Valuable One From G R Bothwell of the Geyser I Marion Mining company who has just returned from a few days visit to Mercur it is learned that the recent discovery of a fine body of ore in the Ii West Gevser ground which is owned by the company promises to add greatly to the value of the property of the incorporation Before the consolidation of the Geyser Gey-ser and the Marion mining companies I work had always been stopped when the underground workings were driven up against what is called the Carrie Steel break or fault which is the dividing di-viding line between these properties and the West Geyser ground and for i a long time this fault has retarded developments de-velopments in that direction and for months it has been an open Question t as to the existence of ore in the West I Geyser ground as drifts that have been run into it from the Gevser and 1 Marion workings after the fault was I encountered failed to disclose anything but barren rock The existence of this break or fault has led to the expression of many theories the-ories as to where the ore had gone to and it was a puzzle to determine whether in the break the displaced ore body was to be found abpve or below Since the consolidation of toe Geyser and Marion properties however the search has been continued from the old workings in the Marion ground and an upraise was made by the side of the break for a height of about 50 I i feet when a drift of less than five feet disclosed the lost vein The company is now hard at work in the effort to determine de-termine its dimensions and it is believed be-lieved that it will prove to be of the same magnificent proportions as are the deposits of mineral disclosed in the other portions of the combined property prop-erty and its discovery certainly adds much to the value of the same Since proving the locality and existence exist-ence of the ore body in the West Geyser Gey-ser ground the drift from the top of the upraise where the discovery was first made has been driven west in a solid bOdy of mineral that carries values ranging from 7 to 11 in gold to the ton and the ore is a perfect leach ing product The drift is now in a distance dis-tance of so feet and over and now crosscuts and levels are being run in order to prove the continuitv and permanency per-manency of the deposit I In other portions of this valuable I property the showing of good milling ore Is magnificent and it is estimated that there is enough mineral in sight I at the present time to keep the two mills i I owned by the company in continuous operation for a long time to come I During his stay in the camp Mr Bothwell also made a careful examination I examin-ation of the Sacramento mine and he states that it is showing up in a most I satisfactory manner with wonderful 1 bodies of ore blocked out in sight In I fact Mr Bothwell made the remark II that if there was another larger body I of mineral exposed to view in any of I tne orner mines of the district he I would be pleased to go and look at itThe I The Sacramento ever since it has been demonstrated that it was a mine has been a source of wonder to every experienced miner who has examined It as it seems as if there was no limit to the bodies of mineral contained in this property In some places the veins shew a breast of a hundred feet or more of solid milling ore and every day or so new disclosures are made which are very gratifying to the manage ment The drift in the Hecla is now in a distance of 140 feet from the shaft to the north and Mr Bothwell is of theo the-o lnlon that the face is nov near the point where he is confident large bodies of pay ore will be found |
