Show WORLDS FAIR MEDALS Long Expected Distribution Has at Last Begun WASHINGTON April 20The long expected distribution of Columbian Worlds fair diplomas and medals has begun at last and today about 3000 diplomas dip-lomas and medals covering all of the successful German exhibitors at the fair were turned over to Baron Thiel mann the German ambassador who will ship them immediately to his gov ernment for distribution Those awarded award-ed to American exhibitors will be ready for delivery within the next ten days or two weeks at the farthest and the awards to England France Russia Spain Italy and other foreign countries will be ready for delivery to their respective re-spective diplomatic representatives within a month Claude Johnson superintendent su-perintendent of the bureau of engraving engrav-ing and printing and Mr R T Preston Pres-ton the director of the mint Who will have charse of the work of preparing the diplomas and medals have given much earnest attention to their special preparation and the medals and diplomas dip-lomas are said to be far superior in point of artistic merit to any ever before be-fore issued by any government for a similar purpose |
