| Show Fast Run on the < Q vOn v-On the Chicago Burlington Quincy the other day between Galesburg and Mendota eighty miles was made the fastest time ever recorded on that system sys-tem beating even the mileaminute record between the same points several months ago The run was made by the Texas flyer with four cars which left here at 1204 oclock at noon and arrived at the station at 132 ½ Frank Bullard was engineer W J Main fireman I fire-man and Scott Dewey conductor The run was a steady one the speed being uniformly maintained the whole distance dis-tance Four stops were made averaging averag-ing two minutes each which makes the actual running time for the eighty miles seventyone and onehalf minutes min-utes The engine was No 512 a class H highpressure engine and of the same type as the No 514 which made the previous fast run of a mile a minute min-ute the same distance I |
