Show A PARIS SALON Americans Will Contribute Several Pictures NEW YORK April 20A dispatch to the Herald from Paris says On April 13 the Champs de Mars salon will be officially opened Most of the pictures are already hung Including many works by American artists which especially make a splendid display The American exhibit will greatly surpass that of last year which was itself above the average Following are descriptions of the principal contributors Miss Kate A Carl from Louisiana makes a notable exhibit of effects of light in La Graces A la Fenetre and ElIot de Lumiere Eanger Irving Cousa from East Saginaw Sagi-naw Mich has a striking picture of a seaside village also Maternity an inter ior study In tone and Le Chemin Edward A Ertz from Chicago exhibits a decorative scene catalogued A Souvenir Souve-nir of Rosetti It represents a girl with golden hair lighted by the sun His Last Day of Sunshine is an excellent landscape land-scape In addition to his canvasses Mr Ertz shows a collection of large watercolors water-colors scenes painted in Spain depicting life in and about Toledo Albert Humphreys Cincinnati exhibits La Veuve and other works Fred Dana Marsh of Chicago exhibits an important decorative composition catalogued Fan tasie representing a group of six female figures attired in strange vestments Henry Stanley Todd of St Louis exhibits ex-hibits the best painting he has shown It Is a charming portrait of Miss McGraw of St Louis a pretty society girl wearIng wear-Ing a dress of rosecolored crepon and standing against a background of gray plush Miss Elizabeth Lourise of Cincinnati has a picture of Brittany girls entitled Heurs dEte La Lecon de Lecture representing rep-resenting a Sister of Charity in the quaint costume of the order of St Vincent Vin-cent de Paul with a class of little children child-ren about her |
