Show IX BLUE BELL DISTRICT Returning Prospectors Predict Great Things For the New Camp C H Alkire F H Nelden and H M Abbott who returned yesterday from Blue Bell mining district in the southeast south-east corner of Tooele county predict great things for the new camp and say that with development it gives promise of growing into one of the greatest mineral regions of Utah While in this district these gentlemen gentle-men made four choice locations a strong ledge running through the entire en-tire length of the group from which good surface values were obtained The vein is a contact between lime and quartzlte the ore being a honeycombed honeycomb-ed quartz while the gangue is a combination com-bination of talc and trackyte Two prospectors on the ground Messrs Brown and Murphy who had an assay outfit but no button scales made a qualitive test of this quartz getting values of from 100 to 200 in gold to the I ton while picked samples went much I higher The four claims located by Messrs Alkire Nelden and Abbott are extensions exten-sions of the ledge located by Brown and Murphy These boys are already doing good work on their properties and have some very fine looking rock to work on Captain H C Snyder is also in the district hard at work on the group of claims located last winter by Judge Barbee who died in a tent in the district dis-trict before he was able to tell the world just what he had found At the time of his death Judge Barbee was prospecting for Hon Ernest G Rog non of this city and the claims are recorded in the names of all three of these eentlemen The Blue Bell district is well mineralized mineral-ized the quartz ledges are strong and well defined There is an abundance of water plenty of timber for fuel and it is believed that before the season sea-son is over quite a camp will spring up thereIn there-In coming home Mr Alkire and his associates stopped over at Mercur and made an examination of the Bismaxk group of claims at Manning in which they are interested on which development develop-ment work will begin in about a week This property has been but little worked work-ed but the opening already made shows up a good body of vein matter The Bismark is an extension of the Gold King ledge The Gold King was visited by the party and Mr Alkire says that it makes a fine showing of ore all that is necessary to make a big mine of it being more work and depth The holdings of Don Maguire are also in this locality and the boys feel that the future outlook is encouraging en-couraging to say the least I 1 |
