Show I A TISSUE OF FALSEHOODS Morgan Officials So Declare thc Purl Record Art h hAn h-An article in the last issue of the Park City Record anent the Morgan mine in Hardscrabble canyon has worked up the owners of the property to the extent that they declare the matter is an entire tissue of falsehoods false-hoods The article In the paper mentioned men-tioned is to the effect that the mine is being run in the interest of a lot of soeculators or words to that effect President John Cummock and Secretary Secre-tary A S Fowler called at The Herald office last evening and declared the story false in everything In the first place there has been 16000 expended on the Morgan mine for actual development develop-ment work and only 1800 in stock sold and that too by the contractors The company has driven a tunnel and a shaft to the combined distance of 1600 feet and the estimate of 10 per foot the members consider a moderate one considering the nature of the ground It is authoritatively stated that Bird the assayer from the Park has never had any ore from the mine that the samples he worked on were taken from a claim 600 to 1000 feet away and where the work is yet in a very embryonic em-bryonic condition The quotations made by Currie and the GoldCyanide company com-pany mentioned in the Record were not the result of samples taken from the Morgan as can be ascertained from the assayers themselves The officials of the mine were not ready to make an absolute declaration last evening but said today they would have figures from the assayers themselves them-selves which they would be glad to give the press for its information The only assays they had at hand were two made in the early history of the mine one of which shows 54 ounces gold and 19 silver the next 32 ounces gold and 120 ounces silver These assays as stated are old ones both made by Officer and neither represent rep-resent the present value of the ores which are now being worked II This is the statement made by the men who are operating the mine |
