Show COURT STENOGRAPHERS I An Opinion Given Out by Attorney General Bishop Attorney General Bishop in an opinion I opin-ion to the state board of examiners yesterday decided that court stenographers stenog-raphers are entitled to only 6 per day for reporting cases during the first three months of 1896 The reason is that the new law did not take effect until April 1 last The attorney general says in part with reference to claims of this character for services rendered during the period stated I fail to find any provision for the payment of mileage to reporters I would therefore advise you that the claimant is entitled to only 6 per day for reporting the cases set out in his claim in place of 8 and that he is not entitled to mileage His claim for transcript of evidence does not show upon what basis It was computed Under Un-der the law in force at that time he was entitled to 10 cents per 100 words |
