Show TESTIMONY WAS PERJURED Signed Statement Made by Scott Jackson one of Pearl Bryans Murderers Cincinnati Feb 2iThe Enquirer has the following signed statement oi Scott Jackson condemned to death fot the murder of Pearl Bryan The trial was managed by Prosecutor Prose-cutor Nelson who conferred with Chief of Police Deitsch and Detectives Grim and McDermott as to the testimony to be offered I could face my God and say that that testimony was perjured I showed upon its face that i was and no better instance can be found than in the positive contradictions by unprejudiced persons of the statements state-ments of police officers concerning George H Jacksons alleged identification identifi-cation of me The states case was a manufactured one without any real foundation whaterer Any man of in telligence who followed the case knows j I that I was not given a fair trial Facts which should have been a part of the evidence were suppressed because be-cause they did not agree with the perjured per-jured statements of policemen I am willing that this shall be published over my signature I may have to die but I do not have to fear to speak my mind honestly Respectfully SCOTT JACKSON A Reverend Meddler Greencastle Ind Feb 27Tle Rev J A Lee of Covington Ky confidential i confiden-tial friend of Jackson and Walling the convicted murderers of Pearl Bryan arrived here today He claimed to have a full confession from Wallicsr which he wished to present to the Bryan family I fam-ily and ask them to petition Governor I Bradley to commute Wallings sentence 1 to life imprisonment On his way to the Bryan hOmestead he was met by Fred Bryan who very plainly told him 1 he would have to discontinue his mlS slon as the Bryan family would not consider the confession Rev Mr Lee gave up his mission and returned to Cincinnati this afternoon = = |
