| Show THE COUNTY COURT A Franchise for the Salt Lake Hailey Puget Sound THE USUAL ROUTINE BUSINESS The Claims of the Coroner Referred Back for Correction A Man Taxed Three Times In the county court yesterday an order was made in the matter of the suit of John W Jones against Salt Lake county that if the plaintiff would pay into the county treasury treas-ury the costs of said suit and the amount of taxes and costs for which his property was sold in IfS with interest on said amount and dismiss the suit his property would be offered for sale at public auction to the highest bidder for cash as provided by lawA A resolution was passed granting a franchise chine to the Salt Lake Hailoy Puget Sound railway commencing at the intersec tion of the west boundary of Salt Lake city sections and 16 township 1 south range 1 west and running thence west and west erly along or across said county roadwhere the convenience of said railroad may require re-quire to the western boundary of Salt Lake county on the following conditions The road must be aid so that the south rail shall be sixteen and onehalf feet north of the center of the road that gravel shall be hauled and spread one rod wide and six inches deep on the southern side of said road within one year after the acceptance of the franchise Then follows a lot of detail in connection with the building of the road etc Edward Kendricks asked relief from county taxes paid in Tooele county on sheep Referred to the attorney Joseph William Taylors claim in tho matter of the burial of Joseph Bradbury was received and filed It was ordered that the clerk make a requisition on the Union Pacific and Rio Grande Western railway companies to furnish fur-nish Salt Lake county with tickets for tho transportation of paupers at half rates The claim of A J Burt was referred to the county attorney The claims of Coroner Harris were ref re-f back to him for correction i The clerk was ordered to correct a clerical cleri-cal error in the H J Faust assessment The petition of S M Lovendahl change a county road was denied The petition of A S Kendall who asked the return of taxes alleged to be erroneously assessed was denied The petition of L Galitzi who showed that his land had been taxed three different times was granted |
