| Show BIG HOLE PLACER The Fifteen Hundred Dollar Assesamen Paid In George A Meears vicepresident of the Big Hole Placer Mining company who has been suffering from a fiveweek attack of la I grippe was unable to attend the meeting held yesterday to consider the 1500 assessment that fell due but his absence did not prevent the stockholders coming up to the scratch in ship shape Mr Meears was seen at his home on Second East street by a HERALD reporter and he seemed considerably knocked out rf though he has been able to dra < himself down town three times since his ailment Mr Meears said that the old board elected in February would hold over At I present he had no report to make except to say that all reports from the mine are en couraging considering that the mine is located lo-cated on the backbone of the continent on the line between Montana and Idaho where part of the country has to be passed over on snow shoes He receives duily reports from the mine in journal form Six men are at work at present but the fore xt man F W Bailey has been ordered to put on a larger force as soon as the weather opens up sufficiently to prosecute work |
