| Show Judge Bishops Court The case of the people vs Fred Moody charged with arson came up for hearing Last Friday evening about 7 oclock an attempt at-tempt VES made to destroy the Grand opera house by fire Fortunately the blaze t was discovered in time and the flames extinguished ex-tinguished Moody was seen leaving the building about the time the discovery was made and was arrested on suspicion of being the guilty party The evidence produced pro-duced was sufficient to convict and the man was discharged The case of the United States vs C L White charged with adultery came up forbearing for-bearing The defendant waived examination examina-tion but the court proceeded to take testimony testi-mony of his lawful wife From the statement state-ment produced by her it was found that White had been twice in the penitentiary on similar charges having served out his last term in May He was bound over to I await the action of the grand jury In 1500 i bonds His plural wife Elizabeth Ann Starkoy was held in 500 bonds to appear as a witness in the case The latter was given a hearing on a warrant charging her with threatening threaten-ing tho life of the former by means of a club After the examination of the prosecuting prose-cuting witness K L White the judge dismissed dis-missed the case as against the defendant The parties were arrested in Kanesville I Utah by Deputy United States Marshal J B McLellan In probate the petition of the widow of John L Hetzler for letters of administration administra-tion was heard and an order made appointing appoint-ing Mrs Hetzler on giving bonds to the J e extent of 1200 An order was also issued for publication of notice to creditors and I for appointment of appraisers |
