Show - i NEONE F. JONES LEWIS M. JONES Honors have been bestowed upon a prominent Bountiful couple this past week. MR. AND Mrs. Lewis M. Jones, who live at 1090 East 500 South, received individual, in-dividual, distinguished, honors. Mr. Jones received the Jesse Knight Industrial Citizenship Award, and will be honored at BYU's 101st commencement exercises on Friday in the Marriott Center. MRS. JONES was one of 12 finalists in the Utah Mother of the Year for 1976. Neone F. Jones, a talented musician with a compassionate concern for others, has served and represented the women and mothers of Utah all her life. She was nominated for the Utah Mother of the Year, and sponsored in the annual Utah Mothers Association ceremony by Marion Willey and Son of Bountiful. ALTHOUGH Mrs. Jones was not chosen for the highest honor, to her many friends and associates, she is still the winner. Neone Fitches Jones was born in Salt Lake City to James and Vira Fitches. She was the oldest of four children in her family. She became an outstanding musician, and gained a compassionate concern for others very early in her life. GRADUATING from high school in Salt Lake City, she studied the piano at the McCune School of Music in Salt Lake City from 1930-39. She studied under Dr. Frank Asper and sang for the Tabernacle Choir, in addition to leading a girls' dance band. In 1938 she married Lewis M. Jones. In 1940 they found it necessary to move to California for employment. The Jones became parents of four children, who all enjoyed their youthful years in Bel I flower, Calif. MRS. JONES became active in civic and church organizations in California, serving as PTA president for Bellflower High Scnoot, accompanied the Southern California Mormon Choir in the Hollywood Bowl, was Relief Society president, became involved in the Republican Womens Club and took an active part in the California-Utah Women's Association. For six years, she supported her husband as Norwalk Stake president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When the Jones family moved to Utah, she found a need to do something of value. She chose volunteer work at the Primary Children's Hospital. In 1970 she became a member of the Brigham Young University Univer-sity Advisory Board. She is presently serving as ward organist in the Bountiful 35th Ward. SINCE MRS. Jones was 11 years old, she has played the piano and organ voluntarily in behalf of varied organizations. organiza-tions. These can vary from fund raising campaigns for congressmen to children's hospitals. In 1962 the Jones family was involved in an automobile accident. Mr. Jones and the daughters all received serious injuries. in-juries. Mrs. Jones had all her facial bones broken in addition to a concussion. DURING RECOVERY she found a family's health is more precious than anyone could imagine, and she gained additional compassion for others during their times of need that she practices daily. Mrs. Jones possesses those special qualities of inspiring greatness in others. Mr. Jones is a native of Cedar City. He has attended BYU, U of U and Southwestern Southwest-ern University. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad at Sun Valley before becoming a public accountant in Los Angeles. An-geles. He held various positions with Associated As-sociated Piping and Engineering Co. of Los Angeles. HE PURCHASED Associated Piping in 1962, merging it with Western Piping, expanding Associated Piping to Clearfield, Clear-field, Utah in 1966. A year later he merged with Johnson Controls, an international company, of which he remains president. He organized National Warehouse and Distribution Co. in Clearfield in 1970, the largest company of its kind in the nation. Mr. Jones has had many assignments in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Council of Boy Scouts of America, Board of Trustees of Primary Children's Hospital, Hospi-tal, Chairman of the Endowment Program, and started the "Festival of Trees" with the Women's Endowment Committee. He is now on the new Board of Trustees of the Primary Medical Center, on the National Advisory Council of the Brigham Youns University. MR. AND Mrs. Jones sponsored the "Grand Land Singers," a patriotic singing sing-ing group in California who have traveled all over the United States presenting their "Discover Your America" program. They have won top national honors many times at the Freedom's Foundation in Vallev Forge. MR. AND Mrs. Jones are parents of four children, who have acquired their parents love for music, education, and compassionate service. They are Mrs. Bruce (Nancy Lou) Mackay of southern California; James Reed Jones and family of Bountiful; Mrs. Jeffery (Marilyn) Lund, Canada, and Mrs. Jeffery (Kris-tine) (Kris-tine) Fannin, Ramstein, Germany.
