Mrs. Oliver K. Meredith, Jr., entertained the members of several bridge clubs to which she belongs at bridge tea yesterday afternoon at her attractive suburban home on Ninth East street. Fall flowers in Iheir gorgeous colorings decorated the house. On the tea table in the dining room, blue and yellow flowers were effectively combined. A large basket of golden marl-golds, marl-golds, blue larkspur, yellow snapdragons and blue asters formed the centerpiece. Smilax was festooned from the chandelier and was caught to the corner of the table with fluffy yellow bows. In the drawing room, pink roses and gladioluses formed the decorations. Asters were used in the reception hall. Assisting the hostess In receiving the guests were Mrs. P. V. Madsen and Mrs. E. H. Chapman. Taking turns at the tea table were Mrs. James Metcalf, Mrs. Charles Olsen, Mrs. R. W. Madsen and Mrs. S. H. Lund. Assisting in serving were Miss Margaret Smith and Miss Carrie Smith. The guests for bridge numbered forty and other guests were in for tea, The wedding of Miss Eva Williams and Perry S. Darger will take place at noon todav in the Salt Lake temple. The couple will leave Immediately after the i ceremony for a tour of the eastern states. Miss Mildred Owens of Butte, Mont., and Lieutenant E. H. Stambaugh will be married this evening- at the chapel at Fort Douglas. Military features will be observed in the ceremonv. The marriage of Miss Mildred Morn's, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Morris, and Claude M. Sweeten will take place Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the home of the bride. 216 B street. Riter in Cottonwood yesterdaj- for its members and friends. The luncheon included picnic delicacies and was served on the porch of the rus- tic home. The members of the ; Chi Omega sorority so-rority of the University of Utah entertained enter-tained with a mothers' tea at the sorority so-rority house, 15 Eighth East street, yesterday yes-terday afternoon from 3 until 1 o'clock. Mothers of the sorority members, their friends and mothers of the friends were special guests. The decorations were in the sorority colors, cardinal and straw, developed with cardinal gladioluses and sunflowers. sunflow-ers. A wicker basket of the blossoms adorned the center of the tea table. The members of the sorority who are sophomores at the university served tea. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. John A. Widtsoe and Mrs. Mothcell of Kansas City. Members of the War Work Depot association as-sociation held a meeting Monday afternoon after-noon at the Hotel Utah to arrange a schedule of winter's work. Many generous gener-ous contributions have been received by the association and it is hoped that many small comforts may be supplied to the United States soldier boys before they start on their long journey to France. The' meeting times have been slightly changed. Following is the present schedule: sched-ule: Monday, 2 to 5 p. m.: Tuesday, 9 a. m. to 12 m.: Wednesday, first and third, 2 to 5 p. m.; Thursday, all day; Friday, 2 to 5 p. in. and 7:30 to 9:30 p. m.; Saturday, Sat-urday, 9 a., m. to 12 m. The Woman's Missionary society of the Westminster Presbyterian church will meet this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Mrs. Sam Williamson, S53 Sixth avenue. Plans for the fall and winter will be considered. The Ladles' Aid society of Tmmanuel Baptist church will meet this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the church. Welnstein entertained enter-tained at a box party at the Orpheum last evening in honor of their cousin, Miss Minnie Rothberg of New York, who has been their guest for several weeks.
