An elaborate dancing party will be given by the Native Daughters of Utah on the evening of Februarj' 17 for lotial charities. The Native Daughters have been working quietly during the winter win-ter in their regular meetings sewing for tho benefit of the needy and now they find it necessary to raise an extra sum of money and so arc calling on the public pub-lic to aid in a worthy undertaking and at the same time to enjoy a social function func-tion that will be worth while. Mu Enauy and Miss Margaret Gibbons. i TWO magnificent pageants were held at the Hotel Utah the past week, one the Carnival of Nations for charity j on "Wednesday night, and the other the j Junior '''Prom," the social event of the ! year in University of Utah circles. In ; the carnival expert decorators arranged booths in which the different nations of the world were represented, and prominent promi-nent young society women in the costumes cos-tumes of foreign countries gave of their time and talent to add to the Red Cross funds, some appearing on the programme and others selling flowers, candy and berving tea to the throng of society folks who were anxious to contribute to the good cause. Tho Junior "Prom" decorations, which were particularly artistic, were fashioned by the university students in a numbor of work parties. Trellises of roses looked natural enough to have grown in a summer garden, and sweets made by the university girls for the refreshment re-freshment of their guests attested to Miss Marguerite Eirtunond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Eichmond, a popular young society girl, whose engagement to Dr. Walter N. Pugh is announced an-nounced today. the excellence of their domestic science training. A large number of young people peo-ple enjoyed the function. The various sororities and fraternities of the university uni-versity kept open house during the week, with the "Prom" as the climax of a week of festivity with the university univer-sity boys and girls. Me'cham. Mrs. Bowyer entertained with a tea ar her homo on Ninth East street Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. The rooms were prettily decorated in ferns and flowers.
