Show Marion IL Smith To Serve Church As LBS Missionary A farewell party in the form of a banquet and program will honor Marion K. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernan H. Smith of Roosevelt, who has been called to fill' a mission for the LDS church in the East Central States. He will, represent the Second ward. A graduate of Mountain View High School of Mountain View, Wyo, Mr Smith was born in San Pablo, Calif. He served two years in the United States Army being released in February of this year. Since his release from the service he has been employed in Provo. Marion will be the third member of the Smith family to serve his church in the mission field. His brother, Ernan, served in the Northwestern States and his sister, sis-ter, Verleen, recently completed a mission in the Northern States. The party and banquet honoring Elder Smith will, be held in the Roosevelt stake house, beginning at 6:30 pm., with the program scheduled for 8 o'clock The public is invited to participate with the Second ward members. Bishop Ralph Shields is directing the arrangements ar-rangements assisted by his counselors, coun-selors, Alma Wills, and Arvin BeI'-lon. BeI'-lon. Elder Smith will, enter the Mission Mis-sion Home in Salt Lake on Sept. 21, and will report to Louisville, Ky., headquarters for the East Central States mission, arriving there on Sept. 30. |
