Show This Week's RECIPE . . . Special requests have been made for Mrs. Jess Hullinger's Fresh Strawberry Pie, which is very easy to make and is a delicious party dessert, FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE (Makes 3 large or 4 small pies) GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST: 36 graham crackers 14 sup butter, softened Mix together and add: y4 tsp. ginger, y2 SUP sugar Mix well and line three large pie tins. Bake at 350 deg. nearly 10 minutes, or until the cracker crumbs are a shade darker. STRAWBERRY FILLING: Set 2 pkgs. strawberry jello with 3 cups boiling water, y2 cup lemon juice and A cup sugar. Let stand in refrigerator until syrupy or ready .to whip. Beat well until light and' fluffy. Whip 2 cups cream until stiff. Fold into whipped jello. ' Defrost 1 quart sweetened frozen froz-en berries (may still be slightly frozen) N Fold berries and berry juice into mixture and fill the' three baked pie shells. TOPPING: 1 cup nuts, chopped fine 3 graham crackers, crushed Mix well and sprinkle on top of pies. Set pies in refrigerator until ready to serve' (approximately 2 hours) Delicious served with a scoop of ice cream. (Raspberries may be used in place of straweberries, and whipped whip-ped canned milk or ice cream may be substituted in the recipe for the whipping cream). |
