Show ! Funeral Services Conducted For Zero Church Funeral rites were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the First ward chapel for Zera Church, who died instantly Friday evening, after being struck by an automobile, automo-bile, while crossing the state highway high-way near the Alpine Villa. Relatives and friends gathered at the Olpin Mortuary, where prayer was offered by Bishop Harold Bullock. The impressive service at the chapel, was conducted by Counselor Coun-selor Howard Warnick. The opening number, Hold Thou My Hand, was sung by Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Robert Hilton, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Melba Gardiner. Invocation was offered by Gardiner Gard-iner Heywod, a nephew. Speakers who paid tribute to the dead man and spoke -words of sympathy and faith to the family were George Church, a relative, Samuel Worthen, a close friend and Harold S. Walker, former bishop of the Grove ward. They were interspersed by a vocal solo In The Garden of Tomorrow," To-morrow," by Joann Brady. Closing words and sympathy and appreciation were spoken by Counselor Warnick, after which Mrs. Hilton and Robert sang Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling. Miss Melba Gardiner accompanied ac-companied all numbers and also played prelude and postlude organ music. Benediction was pronounced by Marion Esplin. Burial directed by Olpin Mortuary Mor-tuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Mortimer Willis offered the dedi-catorial dedi-catorial prayer. Pallbearers were Preston Barton, Bar-ton, Stanley Lefevre, Artho Le-fevre, Le-fevre, John A. Lefevre, Ernest Lefevre Le-fevre and Parley Ipson. Flowers were arranged by the Grove ward Relief Society, as was also the luncheon at the home. (Continued on page 2) Funeral Services (Continued from page 1) Mr. Church was bom in Pan-guitch Pan-guitch June 6, 1887, a son of Abraham Abra-ham and Martha Ellen Alder Church. He married Susie Hutch-ings Hutch-ings on Oct. 5, 1912 in Beaver. They lived in Parowan until 1945 Grove. He was an elder in the LDS church. Surviving are his widow, six children; Mrs. Mathel Ray, Marys- I vale, Abe H. Church, Pleasant j Grove; Mrs. Angus Odriscoll, ' Pleasant Grove, Garneta Gill, Salt Lake City; Norma and Susanne Church, Pleasant Grove; two brothers, bro-thers, Rudolph Church, Panguitch and Chester "Church, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. John L. Haywood, Huprricane and Mrs. May Esplin, Shelley, Ida., and 16 grandchildren. |
