Show Funeral Services Mark Passing of Mrs. May Benlley, 77 Funeral services were held on Monday at 1 p. m. in the June ! tion Ward chapel, for Mrs. Miy Norton Bentley, 77, wife of the late John W. Bentley, and a resident res-ident of Parowan for 14 years between 1913 and 1957. Mrs. Bentley died last Thursday at 10 a. m. in the hospital at Pan-guitch Pan-guitch from a coronary occlusion. Mrs. Bentley was born April 29. 1880 at Spry, Garfield County. to Joseph Albert and Mary Ellen, Banks Smith. She was married to John Ira Norton, Nov. 5, 1900. He! died Aug. 8, 1940 and she was! married to John W. Bentley of Parowan in 1913 in the L D S temple at St. George, and was a resident of Parowan until after Mr. Bentley's death on Mar. 23. 1957, moving to Junction last summer. She was an active member of the L D S Church, working in the Primary and Relief Society organizations during her life. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, 17 grandchildren, grand-children, 17 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. The bishop of the Junction ward conducted the services and j speakers were Mardell Anderson of that community and Max Dal-ley Dal-ley of Parowan, with remarks by the bishop. Fae Worthen, a niece, gave a tribute to "Aunt" May. Mbrrell . Ipson gave the opening prayer, Glen Prince offered of-fered the benediction and Earl Smith dedicated the grave. Clin- 1 ton Smith offered the prayer In the family circle. 1 The musical program included the opening song, "Oh My Fath-f cr," by the Singing Mothers of' the ward; a vocal duet, '"Lay My Head Beneath a Rose," by Har-i riet Gillespie and Ti.urma Jensen, Jen-sen, and a vocal due, "Face to Face." by Beryl Whittaker and Bill Norton. A large number of Parowan people, relatives and friends of the deceased, went over to Junction, Junc-tion, to be In attendance at the services. |
