Show PARAGOHAH NEWS NOTES 1 Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux Bishop and Mrs. James H. Anderson An-derson traveled to Salt Lake City Saturday to attend the week end sessions of conference. The Misses Penny Robb and Sherrie Lynn Deil accompanied them, The Andersons were very pleased to meet and spend some time with the Herbert Topham family, former residents of Para-gonah, Para-gonah, now living in Roseville, Calif. The Tophams were in the city to meet their son, Lyle, who has just completed a mission for the church. Other items of interest inter-est about the family are that Herbert was recently sustained a member of his ward Bishopric, Bishop-ric, another son, Gordon, is also serving on a mission for the church; and the youngest son Stephen, is attending school at B. Y. U. Elmo C. Robinson submitted to surgery at the L. D. S. Hospital Tuesday of last week. A spinal fusion was done and attending physicians pronounced the operation oper-ation a success. Bud is reported to be making satisfactory progress pro-gress and may be out of the hospital hos-pital by the end of the week, although al-though he will be in a cast for several months. His wife, Dorothy, Doro-thy, remains in the city with him. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson Robin-son and little Cindy returned to Paragonah Wednesday. Mrs. Sarah Stones, Miss Helen Stones and Mrs. Lula Bastian traveled to Pangulth Saturday to visit wiih the Wallace Miller family. fa-mily. Mr. und Mrs. Bob Talbot of Salt Lake City arrived here Saturday Sat-urday to spend several days with Bob's people, the Orson Talbot family. Mrs. Gertrude Barton of Cedar City is here to visit for a time with her son, Ted, his family, and other relatives. Mrs. Gwen Jones and Nellie Englestead went to Mount Pleasant Plea-sant to spend the week end with the Rodney Bentley family. Mrs. Jones and her mother were re- turning home by way of Delta to see Mrs. Englestead's brother, Ray Owens, who is very ill. Mrs. Marilyn Brdshaw and her two younger children were here from Beaver on Thursday to spend the day with the J. Leonard Leo-nard Tophams. Mrs. Erma Lamoreaux entertained enter-tained the members of her sewing sew-ing club at her home Wednesday evening, Sept. 27th. Daughters of the Utah Pioneers meeting was held Thursday of 1st week at the home of Mrs. Bertha Topham. The lesson and a history was given and games and refreshments were enjoyed. Mrs. David Matheson of Parowan was a visitor at the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Robinson, Robin-son, son Gerald, daughters, Beverley Be-verley and Lorraine, all of Richfield, Rich-field, were here Sunday to spend the day with the Calvin Robinsons. Robin-sons. Claude Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones, has been ill with pneumonia for the past several days. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Magee of Peach Springs, Ariz., were Saturday visitors at the Joe Lamoreaux La-moreaux home. They are friends of Elder Duane Lamoreaux. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Maxwell and baby, of Glendale, visited at the Wilson Lund home Friday. They were enroute to Logan to attend school. Wilson Lund and Cyril Partner were home for the week end from Caliente, Nevada. Mrs. Rosella Barton has been in South Gate, Calif, for the past week with the family of her son, Lynn. Sunday visitors at the Wilson Lund home included Heber and Anna Dee Lund and their baby of Cedar City and the following people from Milford: Mrs. Max-ine Max-ine Barton and daughter Phyllis, Mrs. Leslie Barton and her children. child-ren. On Monday Mrs. Leah Arm-brust Arm-brust of Boulder City, Nev. and Mrs. Jane Patterson and Mrs. Lola Smith of Cedar City visited at the Lund home. |
