Show Adult Education Program Under Way The registration for this year's classes in the adult education program in the Parowan schools began Monday evening, it is announced an-nounced by Mrs. Thales Brown, chairman of the program for the coming season. The committee had listed offerings offer-ings in a varied field of study with townspeople being offered an opportunity to register for one or more of the classes, and the registration results showed that four of the classes offered had a sufficient number of registrants to go. two more will start in January when the second term gets urder way and that there is a possibility of several more going with the group which was filled on Monday night. The committee is continuing its efforts to get some of the doubtful classes' filled and under un-der way In the next two or three weeks. Members of the committee commit-tee in addition to Mrs. Brown, are Mrs. Ralph Orton, Mrs. Thomas Tho-mas G .Barton, Mrs. Jean Evans, Thales Brown and G. D. Van Ausdal. Classes definitely filled at the Monday night registration are: Painting for Fun, to be taught bv Glen Anderson of the Cedar City schools, to open next Monday Mon-day evening at 7 and run to 10 p. m.; Home Sewing, to be taught by Mrs. Alice Gardner; Welding, to be taught by Thales Brown, and Woodwork, with G. D. Van Ausdal as teacher. Two more classes which Mrs. Brown was indefinite on were Typing and Bookkeeping, to be taught by Mrs. Juanita Orton, al-j though the committee member in charge of registration for these classes was out of town when we received the information. Classes which will begin on Jan. 1 will be Farm Mechanics. Mr. Brown, teacher; Arts and Crafts, Mr. Van Ausdal, teacher, and Upholstery, with Mrs. Roene Lund as instructor. Mrs. Brown states that there is a possibility of n class en th Book of Mormon being filled. It it is added to the program it will be taught by Robert Wileock, lo- cal Seminary Instructor. Mrs. Brown states that a registration reg-istration fee of $5.00 for the classes class-es will be made this year and Is to be paid as soon as the class starts. |
