Show T-Birds of CSU Will Meet Ricks In Homecoming With two down, and a long way to go the College of Southern South-ern Utah football team will ap-Iear ap-Iear before local fans in the CSU Homecoming Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Thunderbird stadium against a surprising Ricks College Col-lege Viking crew from Rexburg, Idaho. Playing before the home town fans for the first time this season sea-son the Thunderbirds will be attempting at-tempting to make a showing after af-ter suffering two lop-sided losses loss-es to two of the strongest junior college clubs of the West. In the season opener the T-birds T-birds lost to Phoenix JC by a' score of 53 to 0 and last week dropped a 69 to 0 game to Bak-I ersfield of California at Bakers-1 field. So far the Thunderbirds have! had 122 points sewed against' them and they are still looking for their first touchdown of the season. B-u-k in the realm of the In-termountain In-termountain Collegiate Athletic Conference, where they CSU crew really belongs, they will be going go-ing against Ricks College which presently holds a one win and1 one loss record with a win in a ; conference contest this past week' over the Dixie Rebels of St. George. Ricks posted a 27 to 0 win' of the Rebels in what was some- J what of a surprise after some in-1 dications of a fairly tough team from the southern extreme of the conference circuit. Boasting a new offensive pattern pat-tern under a new head coach the Vikings put the single-wing to good use. In the season opener the Vikings Vik-ings lost to Carroll College of Montana. For the homecoming event the Thunderbirds could be hurting in several spots as a result of injuries sustained in their two previous battles. The fullback slot and the tackle tack-le positions were the hardest hit and it will remain in question until Saturday as to who will be ready and who won't. Two of the strongest linemen defensively suffered minor injuries injur-ies against Bakersfield. Ken Mac-kay Mac-kay and Karl Ingram at the tack le spots.
