Herts outbid Mrs. Ethel V. Mars at $23,000, a pries which helped rsiae the total for ths 53 head sold to $188,323, a new high for the 193 and '37 ssles. Wrigbt's pries bettered last year's top sals by $8000. Tbs sversgs price at the ssle was $3572. Bidding for ths twe top priced colts was brisk. William du Pont snd J. H. (Jock) Whitney bid against Wright, starting at $5000. Mrs. Mars, who went to $24,500 for the second Galllahad III call, outbid Alfred G. Vsnderbilt for a chestnut filly by Stimulus out of Heloise.
