Show Civic Service Efforts Will Be Rewarded V AA' r ' - ' v f - :.-' THEIR WORK IN MEMBERSHIP DRIVE WINS RECOGNITION Earl Lundquist, left; Carl R. Marcusen, Dr. Arthur Jones S. L. Lions Club to Receive International Drive Trophy Brone Plate, Prize for Membership Growth, Will Be Presented Tonight The spirit of civic service and club enterprise that won first place for Utah district No. 28 in the Lions club membership campaign cam-paign will be recognized Friday night. Because the district showed nearly near-ly 100 per cent membership increase in-crease during the 1936-37 club year, Lions International's trophy will be awarded to Carl R. Marcusen, president of the Salt Lake City club, during ceremonies to begin at 6:30 p. m. in the Hotel Utah. Receiving honors with Mr. Marcusen Mar-cusen will be two men who helped to make the victory possible, Dr. Arthur Jones, captain of the "Pullers" "Pull-ers" during the drive, and Earl Lundquist, captain of the "Push-era" "Push-era" Both are former presidents of Lions clubs, and through the efforts of their teams the membership member-ship was increased from 46 to 88. t The trophy is a bronze plate set with American flags, denoting where Li on ism is strongest. |
