Show Alice Murphy Becomes Rriflft of Robert Bird At high noon Friday at beautiful St Mark' cathedral, Miss Alice Murphy, daughter of Dr. and Mr. Edwin R. Murphy, 861 Firxt avenue, exchanged vow with Robert Hampton Bird, on of Mr. nd Mrs. R. L. Bird, 1389 Harvard avenue. The cathedral was simply decorated deco-rated with a profusion of white gladioli banking the chancel. The altar was lighted by white cathedral tapers. Mrs. Roger I StrobeTr at tha or-" gan, played an appropriate musics! program preceding the ceremony and also played the conventional wedding marches. Dean Franklin L. Gibson performed per-formed the ceremony in the presence pres-ence of members of the two families fam-ilies and a few close friends of the popular young couple. Miss Charlotte Murphy, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and her aister's only attendant. She wore an afternoon dress of Eleanor blue chiffon made on aimple linea and a picture hat of navy blue. She carried an arm bouquet of pale pink gladioli. The bride, who waa given in marriage mar-riage by her father. Dr. Murphy, wore a chic afternoon dress of deep Sink crepe with a redingote of em-roidered em-roidered white organdie. She wore a turban of pink and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and gar-deniaai gar-deniaai James Richard Mulliner was best Inan for Mr. Bird. Mrs. Murphy, mother of tha bride, ehoae a frock of navy blue sheer, with matching accessories, and wore a corsage of gardenias. The bridegroom's bride-groom's mother, Mrs. Bird, wore an ensemble of black crepe with gally-ack gally-ack cape and black accessories. Her corsage also waa of gardenias. Immediately after the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was held at the Murphy home, at whjch only relatives and a few close friends were present. The buffet table7 was covered with a handsome cloth and the centerpiece was a dainfyar-rangement dainfyar-rangement of red and white asters combined with fern. Mr. Bird and hia bride left during dur-ing the afternoon for a honeymoon . trip. For traveling, the bride chose a smart suit of brown gabardine, with which she wore hat and accessories acces-sories of mustard color. Upon their return they will make their home in Salt Lake City. |
