Coach Richeson gave a talk to tell how badly we would beat the Spartans. There was a skit given by the Football players, the k;erleaders got dressed in the Football uniforms and knocked over a blocking dummy. They did this to get back at the Cheerleaders for their Homecoming Skit, in which they made the Football players dress in girl's dresses with makeup make-up and nylons. The drama class put on a skit about the Spartans, and how they were afraid of playing the Moab Red Devils. There was a flag ceremony cere-mony and the school song, but there wasn't enough time to do the spirit stick cheers. SCHOOL DISMISSED FOR UEA CONVENTION By Jody Squires Last week all Moab schools were let out a few days earlier than usual, not because of a bomb threat, nor was it because the school had caught fire, and not even because of a teacher's strike, but for the annual Utah Education Educa-tion Association Conference Confer-ence held in Salt Lake City at the Salt Palace. Meetings are held as a kind of back to school welcome and to give teachers new ideas on teaching. For some of the teachers teach-ers the four day weekend was a chance to head for the hills for the big elk hunt, for others it was just time to lay around and relax and to catch up on the sleep they lost during homecoming week. But for the most part, it was a time for the students to catch up on homework that had fallen behind during homecoming homecom-ing week and time to think of the 149 days of school still left to go. |
