Project may continue, according to McKay Utah Congressman Gunn McKay this week announced that Congress expected to pass a Continuing Con-tinuing Resolution which will make nearly $45 million available for the Central Utah Project next year. (Fiscal 1979) Congressman McKay said, "The resolution provides for close to $7 million more than the President wanted for the Central Utah Project." The $45 million is $7't million less than was provided for in the Public Works bill vetoed by President Carter on Wednesday. Wed-nesday. A Continuing Resolution Resolu-tion is a measure wherein Congress approves funds for a project at the previous year's level. Last year McKay was able to increase funds for the C.U.P. by approximately $9 million. "This makes last year's victory even more important," said McKay. "Utahns should not be disheartened ' by the failure of Congress to override the President's veto," McKay continued. "The Central Utah Water Project is alive and well.
