Show New director chosen for Arthritis Foundation J The Utah Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation has named Ms. Lillian Gannett Gann-ett as Executive Director; it was announced Monday. Mon-day. Ms. Gannett was formerly for-merly an assistant to Utah Representative Dan Marriott. Mar-riott. She is active in Republican organizations, the Davis County PTA Council, Salt Lake YMCA and the Bountiful Chapter of the American Association Associa-tion of University Women. She has also served as Docket Clerk of the Utah Legislature and was a Davis County elementary school teacher. The Utah Chapter is one of 73 chapters chartered by the national organization organiza-tion and represents over 150,000 arthritics within the state. The chapter functions as an information informa-tion and referral center, distributing literature and sponsoring forums, lectures lec-tures and workshops to keep patients and physicians physi-cians aware of the" latest developments in research and treatment. Local representative Ann Pool states that the Foundation, through its referral services, "assists in developing the team care which is essential to the comprehensive treatment treat-ment of the arthritic, whose disease may need attention from an internist, intern-ist, rheumatologist, orthopedist, ortho-pedist, physical therapist, social worker, biochemist, immunalogist, pathologist or psychologist." She continued, saving, "the Chapter, through its support of medical investigation investi-gation and clinical research re-search centers, plays a vital role in the search for answers to arthirtis and related rheumatic diseases." dis-eases." Ms. Pool states that she has a new supply of arthritis brochures and envelopes for membership, member-ship, memorials and special spec-ial occasion gifts. A voting membership is S15 per year.
