The Island : Sky section also shows an fise during the year to date of 15 percent, from 26,441 to 30,291. During September alone, Canyon-Lands Canyon-Lands experienced an increase in visitation of 23 percent, from 7,978 to 9.S44 over September of last year. The Island section, however, which showed an increase of 110 percent in August, compared to August of last year, had virtually identical visitation rates in September Septem-ber of this year as compared to last September. During the year to date. Arches National Park had an 8 percent increase in visitor use, from 282,119 to 304,657 compared to this time last year. The figures for September alone show an increase of one percent from 35,654 to 36,268 over September of last year. Natural Bridges, which has a marked decrease in visitation this summer came back somewhat in September with a 12 percent increase over September of 1977, from 9,238 to 10,353. During the year dqfe, however, thire ha been a decrease in visitation of 10 percent, down from 67,138 to .60,364. |
