With flr'-arms of the John M- Browning design playing a part In the European war, the fame of the Browning weapon has also spread to another an-other corner of the globe, according to an order that has been received by the local firm from a man In China. The order in from EX. F. Otto Dettinar. who apparently appar-ently is a German residing In Changsha, Hunan province, China. The order, which wan written July 31 and has Just been received by the firm of Browning Brothers company. Is for a twelve-gauge shotgun and .22-callber 1 rifle. The order was accompanied by a request from D. MerklliiKhaus. German consul at Changsha to the Chinese government, gov-ernment, requesting that Mr. Dettmar be allowed to Import the firearms from the United States. The local company haa started the two guns on their long Journey across tho Pacific. |
