"B" is Mr. Lakue 's middle initial, but ''courage'' is his middle name, as may readily be judged by the fact that immediately upon purchasing a big six Buick and iscarcelv before he knew how to run the car, Afr. Lakue started on a long overland journey from Ashville, Ohio, to Salt Lake City, in his new car. Though Mr. Lakue was just learning to run his new Buick "45," he obtained ob-tained good experience on the road and completed the distance of over 2500 miles without mishaps of any sort. Mr. Lakue 's itinerary included Columbus, Colum-bus, Toledo, Fort Wayne, Chicago, Omaha, Denver and finishing at Salt Lake, doing the entire distance over the Lincoln highway. As will be seen in the pieture, Mr. Lakue picked up several rare Bouvenirs on his trip, and among the relics he has to Bhow for his cross-country tour are some splendid specimens of elk horns which will be seen fastened to the back of the Buick "45" in the picture. Not a single mishap of anv sort, was encountered on the trip, and It. Lakue reports that he has averaged twenty miles on a gallon of gasoline. Mr. Lakue was accompanied by five passengers on his overland trip and carried car-ried 500 pounds of baggage. In speaking of his experience with the Buick yesterday, Mr. Lakue said: I spent some time examining the different makes of cars before de- ( . ciding which to purchase, and after giviug the matter rareful consideration consider-ation and having the various better makes demonstrated thoroughly to me, 1 decided that the Buick "45" was the car best suited to my requirements. re-quirements. I suppose the same condition con-dition exists all over the country in reference to the demand for the Buick cars, and in mv home town, Ashville, if 1 could Have invested $50,000 in Buick cars such as I purchased, I would have been able to turn them over at a bio profit. People in Ashville are willing to pay a big bonus to secure this make of car. 1 Mr. Lakne will continue to the coast in Mb Buick "45" in a few day, where he will visit the fair at San Francisco. |
