Show POSTAL MATTER IS ON Hi. BASIS Parcels for Uinta Basin to Go at Second Zone Rate. Special to Tlie Tribune. OGDE-K. Sept. 11. Although the postal authorities failed to notify Postmaster W. W. Browning in this city, proof that the Salt Lake postmaster post-master was correct in accepting parcel post mail for the Uinta basin country at second-zone rates was received here todav in the form of a telegram from Washington, D. C. In a telegram to the Ogden publicity bureau yesterday Edward J. McGrath, superintendent of the railway mail service at San Erau-cisco, Erau-cisco, denied that instructions had been sent rescinding the previdus order, effective ef-fective September 1. In tho message received today the third assistant postmaster general asserts as-serts that he issued instructions for the postmaster at, not only Salt Lake, but Provo and Ogden, to accept parcel post matter for the basin points as second-zone second-zone matter. Under this ruling the situation is the same as existed before the order providing for the new routine rout-ine after September 1. Senator George Sutherland, while in Ogden today, told officers of the publicity pub-licity bureau that the postal department depart-ment had agreed to put the matter back on the original basis until he could co'ufer with them in Washington.
