Show Ladies' Literary Club At Christmas Party Well arranged in every detail was the Christmas party given for members of the Ladies' Literary Club, by Rea Straw on Thursday evening of last week, at the lovely new home of her father and mother, moth-er, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Sumsion. Reflecting a Christmas atmosphere, atmos-phere, a prettily decorated tree added a cheery note to the party, which was in charge of Mrs. T. E. Crandall. Following luncheon Ted Peay of Provo entertained with a dramatic reading, and an original musical reading. Mrs. F. C. Packard gave two vocal numbers; Mrs. Crandall, a short Christmas story and the club's traditional Chritmas entertainment, enter-tainment, a scriptural reading on the birth of the Christ child was given by Mrs. Oliver Dalton, and Christmas medleys by Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion. Adding a note of interest to the party also was the playing of several sev-eral short games, for which prizes were awarded the winners. The party was concluded by singing Christmas carols and the serving of light refreshments by the hostess, who also presented each of the eighteen club members mem-bers present with a miniature Christmas stocking favor, which had a decorated white "sugar plum" tree. |
