Show NEVADA-DOUG LAS iSIG II 01 Regular Shipments From Casting Copper Sent to Smelter at Thompson. Tho last report Issued hy tho general superintendent of the Nevada-Douglas, under dnto of November 27, has the following fol-lowing to say regarding mine conditions at Ludwig, Nov.: Work upon tho eighth lovol of tho Ludwltr mlnn is now directed toward the ore recently encountered and tho making of tho connection with tho bottom of tho 750 winze above. A raise has been started in tho ore and will be carried up upon the footwall. This ore runs about 12 per cent. The raise will be pushed so as to allow hoisting at tho south end of the mine. ThlR will allow crosscuttlng and oth-or oth-or work to be carried on nearer tho present shaft without tho Interference Interfer-ence of tramming. A small amount of work Is being carried on upon tho 750 loVel. but It is all in the nature of preparing for tho raise winch is coming Tip from below. At tho Casting Copper regular shipments of two and thrco cars a day are going to the smelter at Thompson. This ore Is coming from above the 100 lovel and lies Irregularly Irregu-larly under the waste capping and against the limo to the southeast. This ore, broken and shipped without sorting, averages 71 per cunt copper. At present the oro on tho 100 lovol Is about thirty to fifty feet wide and over 200 feet long. The truo length Is unknown as the two drifts being carried alone; the strike In the southerly south-erly direction remain In ore, which Is at present about thirty feet wide. Upon the 200 lovel of tho Casting Copper a crosscut Is being run to tho east at a point opposite the No. 1 raise. Tho ore hero Is low-grade, averaging 21 per cent copper. To reach the main ore on this level It. will necessitate a crosscut about I twenty to tlfty feet long from this point, ami wo expect to report shipping ship-ping ore In this working In a comparatively com-paratively short time.
